As the world turns its eyes to Paris for the 2024 Games, every detail matters for the athletes competing at the highest level. For Team USA, preparation and recovery are the cornerstones of performance. That’s why their chosen Parisian home base, ATHLETICA (the renowned training center formerly known as CDFAS d’Eaubonne), sought out the best in athletic recovery technology.
Cryo Control was honored to be chosen for this crucial mission: to design and build a world-class hydrotherapy and regeneration area, providing American athletes with the ultimate competitive edge.
The Mission: Engineering a Bespoke Balneotherapy Zone for Peak Performance
Our task was to transform the « vessel of Val-d’Oise sport » into a high-performance sanctuary. The goal was clear: create a unique, state-of-the-art aquatic recovery zone tailored to the demanding needs of elite athletes. We leveraged our expertise in custom solutions to deliver a system that is both powerful and intuitive.
Our Custom-Engineered Solution
To meet the specific requirements of Team USA, we designed and installed two fully bespoke pools, focusing on the proven benefits of contrast therapy.
- Hot & Cold Contrast Therapy: At the heart of our project are a perfectly calibrated hot plunge pool and a refreshing cold plunge pool. This dual-system allows athletes to perform contrast recovery cycles—a method scientifically proven to reduce muscle soreness, decrease inflammation, and accelerate metabolic waste removal, leading to faster and more effective regeneration.
- User-Centric Design for Total Flexibility: The pools are semi-recessed and feature integrated steps. This smart design allows athletes to choose between partial or full-body immersion, giving them complete control over their recovery session based on their personal needs and preferences.
- Fully Automated for Seamless Use: In a high-stakes environment, simplicity is key. Our hydrotherapy systems are fully automated. An athlete simply needs to select the desired temperature on a user-friendly interface, and the system manages the rest. This ensures precise temperature control and allows for completely autonomous use, letting athletes focus on what they do best.
